As someone of you know, I have traveled almost 9 years on river cruise ships. I have visited many many countries and naturally have stuck my nose in many restaurants, bars and wine cellars. It all started by talking about drinks and over time I became a bar manager. Soon after, I started talking about serving and I soon became a restaurant manager. Later, I started talking about wine and I became wine lover, connoisseur and certified sommelier.
Since I moved to Copenhagen, I started to talk about coffee. The first coffee I tried in Denmark was “danish coffee”, which I truly thought wasn't so good. But then a Danish friend told me, that there is another, older style how Danish people used to prepare coffee. In fact, it was very similar to the Czech “old style” of coffee preparation, which we call Turkish coffee. I am still drinking "turkish coffee' when I visit with my parents in the Czech Republic at a magic place called Traktorka. These visits over coffee with my parents are times we often reminisce about; the smell of coffee, the relaxing atmosphere and family was something I always missed here in Copenhagen.
The idea to start my own business started and I was talking with my friends and observing coffee culture in Denmark. Many of the people I know like the idea to have coffee in the city center in the most convenient places. After some personal tastings of cafe houses around the city, the decisions was made. Yes I will do it!
Since I have specialised in training others how to make french press coffee on the river cruise ships, it was a clear decision to continue with the coffee I have grown to love which reminds me of many wonderful times in my life. Every day when I take my coffee bike in to the city it reminds me the first day I ever used a real Danish Christiania bike. It was an unforgettable moment in my life, my wedding day. On our wedding day I rented a Christiania bike and after getting dressed and listening to gypsy music in front of our house that I hired for my “future wife” I took her to the place we got married on the Christiania bike. Other girls would have needed a limousine, but Marin, my wife, was happy with this surprise and she really enjoyed that ride to our wedding. Many people stopped us, took pictures and some were even applauding us as we biked through the streets. As we went through the streets I loved the feeling of being so close to people and touching their lives in a way that was unusual for them and unforgettable for me. So, you can imagine my first day selling coffee on the street, offering people a cup of my favourite coffee; I was smiling with a full heart of happiness.
So, if you will walk near my Coffeehagen, stop by and try coffee made with love and passion. It took long time for me to figure out how I can bring a delicious cup of coffee to crowd. Nothing is secret, so if you have a question about the coffee beans i'm using, or how to filter coffee, etc. just ask me. I will be happy to talk about it :)
